The college is one of the largest colleges in Vermont, and the name says it all. To be a part of the contest, one must write an essay of 500 words or more.The essays that are entered in this contest are usually high school level, but some of the best students can sometimes sneak in the door to write an essay for the Green Mountain College writing course, or to submit an essay for any other writing course that Green Mountain College offers. In order to enter, the student must be at least twelve years old. Students can also register online at greenmountaincollege.org.In order to participate in the essay contest, the student must have a basic knowledge of the writing course, as well as English. The essay topics are general in nature, and one will be asked to submit a five paragraph essay on a ce rtain topic. Some examples of possible topics include the famous former President Clinton, Green Mountain College, and current President Barack Obama.A student who enters the essay contests must read through the rules before participating. The rules include the deadlines for the essays, a deadline for the essay to be submitted, and a final deadline for the essay to be approved by the judges. Any student who does not know the rules before entering the contest should look up the rules and make sure they understand them before participating.After submitting the essay contest to the Green Mountain College writing course, the student will receive a response from the writers' room.
